Neutral safety switch
What do the various pinouts on the NSS do - for example E&F are both heavy gauge wire - like 10 ga. so I presume they are for the starter circuit. the other 4 wires are much lighter ga.
Backup light?
There is a micro switch at the back of the shifter that seems to be engaged anytime you select a gear lower than 'D' what does this switch do.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the NSS they can link me to? Ive identified this thread which helps with the two hvy ga wires
Thanks

IIRC there is no diagram for the switch as the three switches are treated as individual items in the relevant diagram ;
ie safety switch is shown in the starter wiring diagram
backup switch in the backup light diagram

Besides the obvious wires for the backup lights and neutral safety switch (you can only crank in Park or Neutral), the other wires tell the ECM what gear the transmission is in. It adjusts the idle speed based on that, plus TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) lockup and some other stuff, like turning on the upshift light.
