Hey guys, I have a slight dilema... I have been looking for the good leather seat covers for my 84 (the ones sold on corvetteamerica). I have a saddle interior. These seat covers are very expensive as I am sure you all know, but I found some on ebay for a VERY good price. Now the ones on ebay are beige(part #420482 @corvetteamerica). I am just wondering what you all think... if this beige is possibly close enough to saddle for me to get them, they look very similar. Thanks in advance for your help.
I don't think they are the same color.
I think Saddle is darker than Beige.
Here is a pic of my '96 with Beige interior.
The "Beige" color interior that began in '92 was a very light color. I believe there were two different "Saddle" colors. My 87 has a saddle interior and in 90 and 91, there was a Dark Saddle color that was closer to a brown.
If the original OEM interior is saddle leather, the RPO option code for your 84 would be "622". That code is the same one for the saddle leather for my '87.
Corvette America should have both colors available and they typically do a good job making sure the colors match the OEM dyes and that the color name is correct for the model year. Is the flea-bay listing from Corvette America or some other seller?

ahh crap... yah that looks way different... i already won the covers for $215.00(a steal). But I assume that will look strange in my saddle interior. btw, thats a darn good lookin interior..very clean.
I hope they used a generic picture in that auction because the bottom cushion does not match the early C4 standard seat. Also, the part number in Corvette America's website matches it to a 1992 model year. If that's the case, you will have to also get new foam for it to fit correctly.

Oh boy..its sounded worse n worse...... I cancelled the order, I am not going to take a chance. Thanks for the help guys.

Depending on what's wrong with the seats in your car now (they look fine in the pictures), you may want to consider taking it to an auto-upholsterer. If only certain panels are bad, it can cost way less to replace that piece(s) instead of the whole thing. If it's a color thing, you can dye the leather. RIT makes an excellent dye and so does Corvette America. I used the Corvette America one a few months ago to refresh my saddle interior when I replaced my carpets. Its a great product, lasts long (the dye on my console over is 5 years old and still looks new) and is easy to apply. Not to mention, its way cheaper than replacing covers.
It might be hard to see and the color is off because it was taken at night in my garage, but after I dyed everything, the colors are all uniform.

Oh yah that's a very good point you've got there... My seats arent terrible, just have a small rip on each one on the bottoms. I think for now I will just live with it, and eventually do like you say and goto an upholsterer. Your seats look basically new, thanks for the help!
The seats in my car came from an 86 C4 with less than 40,000 miles. I bought them 2 years ago to replace the sorry excuse for sport seats that came with the car. With a little orange clean and some leather conditioner, they stay looking new. I also keep the car parked in a garage so the sun doesn't do a number on it.

Armor-All makes a cleaning wipe with Orange, that's what I use. It does a great job, smells nice and won't remove the dye. Just remember, when you use any cleaner on a leather product, you are removing the natural oils so you have to condition it after cleaning. Gliptone makes a great leather cleaner and separate conditioner if you can find it.
