Default Splash guards

Seems like the part of my car that is always dirty is right behind the tires.

Slash guard thoughts?

Keep them black or paint body color?

Anyone have good pictures?

never seen `em on a vette. you could autozone a set but to be effective they would have to go almost all the way down to the ground. or drive on clean roads.

I got a set of Altecs molded splash guards on mine. I got them from Mid America.

I made these. Not the prettiest, but very functional.

Saw the molded ones on one at a show. They were painted and looked sharp. like body flares almost.

Check out my thread about splash guards. The last post are my splash guards on my 93. They work really well and after almost a month, there is absolutely NO dirt or grime behind the tires

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...sh-guards.html

also, here's my album on Razzi: http://razzi.me/albums/19468-c4-splash-guards

Also, before someone gets on me for not washing a white Vette in almost a month of daily driving, it's been constantly raining just about every week this month. I plan on cleaning it up nice after Sandy passes.

Cheers!
-Jay

Stay away from the molded ones unless you want to repaint your rear bumper and front fenders after removing them some day.

thanks for the input. I'm gonna put some on. I just got to decide to go with black or paint to match.

I you put a strip of clear vinyl on the body, under the splash guards, it should prevent that problem.

I have them, and they give The Ghost a cool look.

The PO had Altecs on the rear so I got a set for the front and painted them. I like the look and it does help with cutting down on rock chips, then again I only drive 10 mph on the gravel road. I wasn't aware of any paint issues with the molded guards...guess I should pull a couple and see if there's any damage.

astepup said that

U think I want to paint them. Wonder if I should have a real body shop paint them so the color is perfect?

I don't know for how many years the splash guards were installed on my '91, but when I pulled them, there was not even primer left at the worst spots. So I think a strip of vinyl would delay the problem, but not prevent it.
