Hurricane Sandy
Thoughts and prayers to those affected by hurricane Sandy. Special mention to all first responders (fire, police and paramedics) working in challenging conditions. Rain and wind to arrive in Nova Scotia over night and through Wednesday.

Here in the mid atlantic, the power was out for 2 hours last night, and we got our share of high winds. The only damage was it shredded my car cover. The vette didn't dissolve from getting wet so it's all ok.

I couldn't believe that we had 60 mph winds and 4 inchs of rain all the way (300 miles from coast) to West Virginia. I can't imagine what it was like on the coast.. Whats going on with this weather lately??....

What do you mean, russians and chinese. Allways blame it on someone else. This has happened before on earth and it's not because of us. We lost power for 28 hours and it's part of life. there are plenty of other people that have it a lot worse. lets pray that everyone is ok and do what we can to help anyone who needs it.

My power is still out but I have a portable generator that I'm running. Been out of power since Monday. Entire town and county is in the dark. My home was ok except for trees and branches all over the place. I have a beach house in Brigantine NJ ( where Christie and Obama broadcasted from today). I'm lucky that the house is ok. I'm not even allowed there yet and once I can go there I may have to search for my boat. Good chance its gone or destroyed. This storm sucked!! At least my family and friends are safe. That's more important than anything else.

No power on Long Island,ny My house and family good but my beautiful country club yard looks like a war zone.9 trees down ,inground pool ,pond waterfalls and tiled patio all crushed.Just missed house by less than one foot.I will now use my insurance that I never used.Material items can be replaced lives cant
