I have not had a C3 since my '71 LT-1 convertible which I sold in 2006. In 2009 my '66 coupe was also sold, and I bought my '93 Ruby Red car. The '93 is a great car, but I miss having an older one, so I have been casually looking for the right deal to come along. Well, Saturday I made the 200 mile trip and picked up a '75 convertible, which I would call a light project car. It's an L48 auto with 60,000 miles. It needs new bumpers, new wheels and tires (obviously), the seats recovered, and new carpet for starters. The underside and engine compartment will need detailing, but the frame and windshieild frame are super solid. The radiator support doesn't have one spec of rust on it. My son took some pictures of it at dusk when I got it unloaded:

I had a 1975 coupe, bought it new, it had no power, no torque, but it was the most beautiful riding corvette I have owned, and I have had several C3s and now into C4s,
The coupe was an L48, auto, Steel Blue Metallic, rare color, I have only seen two others in my travels. and in 2012 very rare, I would imagine. I wish I was closer, I would give you a hand re-building that roadster!! Congratulations on the purchase, I am sure when you are done, it will be a looker, and the color is great!!. when I had the coupe my neighbor had the vert, in the same color you have there, w saddle interior, it was a very sharp Corvette in the day. I miss that lil coupe, it was a joy to own, and ride in..makes my c4 feel like a buckboard in comparison..
I almost pulled the trigger on a C3 coupe to use as a daily driver, but I really needed to have an opening rear hatch and the 82 Collector Editions just don't float my boat.
I used to have a 75 coupe. Modded it and put 200000 miles on it. Old school 350 is easy to get power out of and I had lots of fun with it, drag racing.
I had a 73. The engine was junk. Local engine shop had a nice 400 to drop in it. It was fast and sounded good. Was working to much to do all the work it needed on the body and interior.
Congratulations! Couldn't open the pics either, so looking forward to seeing what ya got! The 75' 'verts are especially rare and they are the last C3 verts made! You ain't gonna see many on the road, that's for sure. My L48 74' is being gone through as we speak and I'm having a blast working on it!
In fact, I had the honor of having the cheapest Corvette repair I've ever had in my C4-C3 ownership. I spent 10 cents and fixed something on a 'Vette! It was a 1/8 hairpin clip from NAPA to fix the loose reverse light linkage rod on the Muncie! The reverse lights were on all the time, because the clip came off the rod came loose and the PO's had disconnected both backup bulbs and pulled the harnesses from the lamp. It took ten minutes to find and two minutes to fix, which also made it the fastest repair I've ever done on any Corvette!
Nice lookin 75! You don't see too many dark saddles out there. Looks like a nice project that will put a smile on your face. Personally I really like C3s. Enjoy!
Since 75 and earlier cars don't need to go through the CA emissions check, i have been somewhat looking for a good deal- maybe one day. That definitely looks like a good one since the things not in need of repair look to have been kept in good condition.
