Default 1987 plenum runners

I have now replaced the runner gaskets twice. I still have a vacuum leak on the intake manifold side of the left runner. I cannot find a torque for the mounting bolts. Is there any additive that I should use on the gaskets?
Any suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks, Ron

Should I install a gasket sealer on the runner gaskets? If so, what do you recommend?
Thanks for the help

If you want them to stick, Permatex 3H. It comes in a small bottle with a brush cap.

If you want to be able to re-use them, just use chapstick on them.

It's possible you're getting the wrong gaskets too. The early TPI is a little different from the later ones as far as EGR tubes go. Not sure if the gaskets are different for them or not, but I know the TPIS set that I bought for my Accel runners didn't fit well at all.

Is everything installed on the correct sides? Not sure about early TPIs, but on later years the runners, as well as gaskets are side specific. Installation on the wrong side can cause vacuum leaks.

I am certain they are installed the same way I removed them. the problem is on the left front runner / manifold side. When I spray either in this area the idle smooths out and idle increases. I am going to take a much closer look when I dismantle. I 'm wondering if a runner can warp resulting in a poor fit to the manifold. I will use the permatex as you suggested and double check the new gaskets for proper fit. Thank you very much for your input. If you think of anything else please let me know

The Right Stuff Gasket maker finally stopped the leaks on my valve covers!
It hardens up nicely and remains pliable.
A light film on both sides of the gasket maybe helpfull.

Thanks for the info. This has turned into a nightmare for me.
