Any one know what this is for,, it was laying beside where it was supposed to be pluged into . The line runs down to some thing.. Thanks

If you are asking about the tube connected to your air inlet, it is the air inlet temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the air going to your throttle body.

If you are talking about the tube with the grey elbow going in to the air duct...This is the fresh air supply that vents the opti. It is pulled into the opti by the vacuum which is the other line coming up and goes through a check valve and a filtered check valve to the intake manifold.

The air temp sensor is plugged in the other side of the duct.

It wasn't connected so I reconnected it. I kind of thought it might have something to do with the opti.. Thanks for the info..

I thought you were talking about the metal tube on the throttle body that has nothing on it. (throttle body hot water thing)
Yeah, the little rubber hose with the 90* fitting in it is the fresh air inlet vent for the opti.
