Well i've pulled my ccw off the vette and the back sides need cleaning. They were used when i got them and are pretty bad back there.
What stuff does the best job???
This my sound weird, but the last set of C4 wheels I did I used
foaming bathtub cleaner. Sprayed on and let it sit for a few
minutes. Then used a 3M pad to rub it in. Rinsed with water abd
they where nice and clean.
I don't usually let mine get too dirty but I simply take a soft brush and after I have scrubbed the sidewall of the tire with Wesley's bleche white I swirl some of the suds over onto the barrel and scrub it with the soft brush, BUT, my wheels are chrome. Whatever you decide to use, be sure the cleaner will not mar the highly polished surface. I think I would just try to use car wash soap first, then maybe tar remover.
Just did this on Thursday.....Scrubbed the inside with the usual subjects without very satisfactory results. I looked on the wife's laundry soap shelf and found powdered Super oxyclean.....why the hell not??
Sprinkled it on the sponge I was using and rubbed it in...worked like a charm...all the grime came right off.

Thanks for the tip....... tried Simple Green Degreaser and Stoner Degreaser........ nada, only removed the 'dust' ....... SuperOxy is next.

I use "Foaming Bubbles" and it works quite well for this.
Once you're done, wax the insides to make them easier to clean the next time.
I wold not advise putting oxiclean or any degreaser strait on your wheels. The finish will pit and destroy it self it self very fast. If you do, wax soon after..Why not just throw bleach on them as well while your at it.

Are you thinking that these are polished wheels? Clear coat or paint is not going to be harmed by Oxiclean or bleach. If they are, there is more trouble than first imagined.
Oxiclean, rubbed on and then rinsed off is not going to damage anything painted unless you scrub it on while it is still an abrasive powder.
