Dead on the Road
The next day when I get it home (tow truck). I run through the basic checklist 1. yes it has gas 2. yes the fuel rail has pressure 3. yes it seems to have a spark (I'll get back to that).
The engine will crank over but not hit a lick. I even shot a bit of ether in (I know, I know, I'm not supposed to use ether) and nothing.
Back to the spark. I pulled a plug out and can see a spark when cranking but it only seems to spark once or twice during roughly 10 seconds of cranking, it seems like it should be hitting more often than that, around once per second.
The Coil, distributor cap, plugs, wires and injectors were all replaced about 6 months ago with quality products, not cheap stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions, this is my daily driver and my wife's getting kinda tired of me driving her car everywhere.
Thanks!
Oh yeah, I believe something is grounded somewhere. About a month ago my car lost power (electrical) while driving. I opened the hood to find the power wire on the back of the alternator had heated up and cracked/melted where it connects to the alternator. I replaced the wire and it's shown some signs of heating but not bad. I haven't found the ground and don't know if it's connected to it currently not starting but I thought the info may be useful.
Thanks again!
