G'Day,
I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with John's Corvette Care in Dearborn Michigan and could let know about quality and fit of their products as I need to purchase a new top and power seat covers for my 87 Conv and living in Australia it's a long way to send things back if they are not right first time.

   No problem with them here...
DON'T use John's for seat covers... I ordered them years ago for my '84 and they immediately went back.. They weren't really leather, even though advertised as such; truly a POS. There is only one place for interiors; always been that way. Al Knoch interiors in TX. Best quality, almost *exact* repros of the originals.. It isn't cheap, but it's the best.. You get what you pay for re: interior parts...
Hi,
What can I say about them being closed I have no idea, all I know is that their website is still running but from what I'm hearing so far I don't think I will be using them anyway.

Re: John's Corvette Care (Banga)
erm, I should have pointed out earlier that i heard (there was a long thread here about it) that ecklers had a spam problem of sorts, not that its 100% fact, but complaints were made and all. Just to clarify :)
Don't use John's CC...John isn't customer service oriented. I had a few pieces of carpet that didn't fit, they were cut wrong. Even though I sent John pictures of what was sent and what they should look like, he didn't return E-mail or calls....I finally had MasterCard get my money back (Love my MBNA Mastercard, they took one look at the pics and credited my account).
Hey thanks for the news, sounds like this guy really doesn't want return clients.
Love the Great White logo those things clear whole beaches in 5 mins flat over here, saw a couple in my surfing days, lucky they weren't hungry.
Banga over here is a nickname for a 350 Chev motor to some people anyway and as I've put a few in Aussie cars over the years somehow the nickname stuck.
The personalised Banga plates are going on the Vette when it's finished. :)

America has a wee bit of a different definition :D
Anywho, I have the commercial for that Auss built car...don't know it's name but the commercial has H some logo and SV (the commercial is called V8 Symphony) on the car. Very cool spot and the cars look cool.
You've got my interest with the American version of Banga (is it printable).
HSV stands for Holden Special Vehicles. Holden being the GM arm in Australia, HSV is like say a Callaway over there. Check out their website at http://www.hsv.com.au they build some great cars looking forward to taking a few on with the Vette in the future. They usually run Gen 3 V8's (LS1's I think) about 340hp imported from the States. As does Holden, they are looking at importing what we call a Monaro here into the States at the moment and selling it under the Pontiac name maybe as a GTO. :D
I got seats and carpet from John's a few years ago, have not installed them yet for various reasons. The one seat bottom looked to be fitted poorly under the front edge (not in a visable area, really) I did have a real issue with them telling me they would install, and then loosing my name on their "list". So, I basically took two years to pay them and pick up my stuff a bit at a time. Supposedly they do the stuff for Corvette Central. I am sitting only a few blocks from there right now, I don't go home that way, however, so I can not attest to the fact that they may be closed, but would not be that surprised. He seemed to be getting into the Hot Tub business heavilly. So, I guess the bottom line would be Als' as recommended above.
And welcome, mate! Post Pics! Right Hand Drive? :seeya
Thanks for your help my Vette is still LHD I am still tossing around whether to convert it as it's a $13,000 Aus job, that's around $7,300 US. This car car arrived in Aus after 5 years spent on a wharf in Japan Paint came up well but seals, Roof and seats need some work but it's only got 38,000 miles on it and they look genuine. It will be worth around $40,000 Aus when finished not that I think I'll sell it ever I've wanted one since I was a kid. So if I convert it I'll post the pics maybe include a few of the job in progress.
Corvettes to Hot Tubs sounds like a big shift to me.
