Default Black or silver???

I'm about to order me some A mod repops. Trying to decide between the ZR1 sliver and th GS black. I'm posting 2 pics of a comp yellow car with each set. I added a third option for custom powder coating. Please, if you pick PC option, what color are you thinking? What looks best?

I've always thought that black GS complements white, red, admiral blue, and yellow C4s very well. I think that the silver works better with green, aqua, and silver cars. Chrome works better with black than black-GS, in my opinion, unless you have fender stripes or some other accent pieces.

No combination using chrome/silver/black wheels is going to look truly bad, it's just that certain combinations resonate better. I really like the look of yellow with black wheels, it just looks fast.

Horses for courses the silver looks heaps better on the comp yellow The black does look fantastic too leaning more toward silver seems cleaner

I love the Chrome a molds on my black vette but am in two minds on black a molds on a black car i cannot decide on that
(chrome hates moisture so unless you use dry nitrogen instead of air the chrome can peel if you top up a slow leak and use air making it a huge leak that will destroy the aluminum wheel by galvanic action)

Not cheap to air freight a wheel to Australia postage cost is more than the wheel !!!!!!!!! been there done that

If you have the black transparent top like the two cars pictured, I would use the black. I don't like introducing a third color unless it is a really nice accent. I run black wheels on my car.

I never have liked black wheels on a car, but that's just my personal choice. I have chrome A-Molds on mine and it looks good on a Polo Green car. I really like some of the new smoke & grey coatings I've seen over polished silver wheels.

I should add that, for my part, chrome/polished and silver wheels are interchangeable as far as my opinions on looks go.

Here is my bodyshop head talking the black painted rims are going to rock chip up and be a pain in the *** to keep clean, chrome or polished alum will hold out way longer and look better over the long term then the black will. My personal opinion go chrome easy to keep clean and chrome looks good on any color period.

Thanks for your input. IMO these are a 500.00 set of wheels, not worried about chips. Again, IMHO I think chrome looks cheap. I don't like chrome on anything.

I agree with you, chrome is a bit garish. BUT polished aluminum is a bit more subtle. Now on the yellow Vette, black looks a bit more racer-ish (which I like )
