I am trying to sort out the wiring issues in my 84 (Automatic car) and am having issues with the hatch release.
Both door buttons work to release the hatch, but the button in the console doesnt work. I checked the wiring at the switch- everythign is still connected. I also checked my nuetral safety switch, and it seems to work correctly but the switch still wont pop the hatch. If I ground the tan wire, then it will work. So something is not connecting the ground to the switch.
Anyone know what else the switch connects to that could cause this? Is it connected to the ECM at all?
Just noticed you have an automatic, I don't have a copy of the auto yet, but the tan wire goes to the hatch-auto fuse, top-middle 3A., to the neutral start switch, to the theft deterrent relay, and gets its ground through the starter coil..
