The exterior door handles are starting to look really faded. I was thinking of refinishing them, but i do not want to take the door apart to do it. Anyone ever touch up the door handles, and if so, how did you do it? Thanks for the help.
its a painted part. compound it and wax it. if you have to repaint it get ready for some work. you have to remove the door panel and the window glass to get it off. it sure will make the car look better though.

Actually on my 88 I used Mothers "Back to Black" to clean them up and they looked like new. They where faded and hazed over with old wax buildup. One tratment lasted about 8 months  before starting to look a little crummy.
I carefully masked them off, sanded till smooth (there were paint chips around the keyholes), and sprayed with the satin black trim paint. The masking is the most important part, and takes the longest. Came out good!
