A friend is looking to buy, and needs to know the differences between the '94, '95, 'and '96, both mechanically and cosmetically. Help would be much appreciated! Given all else being equal, is there a reason to choose one over the other? Thanks! :D
Re: QUICK HELP! Differences between '94, 95, 96. (axcelr8)
'94 got passenger side air bags.
'95 last year for the ZR1.
'95 and '96 'vettes got different side air vents.
'95 and '96 got better shifting for the automatics.
'96 has the little divider thing on the lights in front painted the body color.
'96 all LT1s got automatic, LT4 got 6-speed
I'm sure I didn't name ALL of the differences, I'm sure there are quite a few more.
Well, as with most cars, when a new model is introduced they are not refined and still have bugs. By the end of any run for any car it is usually more refined, and of better quality. This is true for the C4. The '96 has the best build quality, most refined. As for a GIGANTIC difference between '94-'96, there is not a HUGE one. If I had a choice I'd get a '96, and it would most likely have less miles on it.

95/96's have the better Optispark and they also have the ZR-1 brake package as standard equipment. 96 uses OBD-II and can be trickier to work on and if I'm not mistaken, they used a slightly different throttle body. Other then that there is almost no changes between 95 and 96 automatic cars.
