Has anyone ever seperated the lighted vanity mirror from the sun visor with out destroying it? There's probably a procedure for doing it but I can't figure it out.
i replaced mine with a set from ecklers about a year ago. i played with the vanity mirrors, but decided to just buy the new ones as a unit (black). they were actually better than i expected........they look perfectly stock. :seeya

Re: Sunvisor Question (Ho84Z51)
I was only able to change the bulbs w/o having a problem. I replaced mine from Ebay. They where cheap and in excellent condition. I did try to take apart the visor, It did not work. I think they are not made to be taken apart.
Are you trying to take them apart to repair them? If so is it because the ends droop down? If so I repaired mine by slipping two pieces of metal banding in between the cardboard inside the sunvisors. This helps hold the ends up.

Actually I found a vanity mirror that is almost a duplicate of the one in the Corvette. The difference is that it runs on 4 AAA's. I'd like to pull out the old and put in the new one and attach it with velcro. I found it at Wal-Mart for 4 bucks and it's a dead ringer for the real thing.
