ASR Help!!
I just got off the phone with my cousin who used my vette to jump start a truck. I am trying to keep from cussing here...but he told me the positive clamp on the jumper cables touched something on the car and sparked across. The vette died as soon as he saw/heard the arc. He jumped in the car, smelled burnt rubber (hoping its from paint/rubber on the jumper cables), but tried starting the car. He said the car started right up but the "Service ASR" light was on inside the car.
I have a '95 LT1/6spd vette...pretty much all original. As far as I know, the dash has never been out of the car. Not sure why I'm telling everyone this but i'm afraid I might have to get behind the dash to fix.
I haven't seen the car yet...or smelled it. I told my cousin to park the car and disconnect the battery until I could get home.
Now I'm asking if anyone has had a similar experience of shorting out the battery resulting in the same 'SERVICE ASR' result? If so, what did you do to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance to any advice. I am going to step outside now and yell a little bit!!
Thanks,
Greg
You should probably check all of the fuses, just to be on the safe side. That's where I would recommend starting first...

Thanks for the quick reply.
Greg
