Yes they went back to the same type cockpit style that so many people loved about the C4. C4 owners that have moved into C5s and C6s talk about how they miss the seats and feel of the cockpit interior on their old C4. The C7 interior has finally moved into the world class car arena.

Yep, I see the similar architecture. I like the philosophy (big reason why I like the '90-'93 interior so much), but I hate how in the new car, everything looks so "droopy". The vents taper down...even on the passengers side! Steering wheel tapers down...everything has this downward taper to it.
It looks like they designed a really handsome interior, and then overheated it and everything "sagged" a little.

Ya I mainly meant the heavily diver oriented cockpit feel of the interior. It looked like a refreshed, more modern and higher quality version of the C4 dash. I mean it even has a digital speedo haha

Hopefully it differs from the C4 design in that it isn't made out of the world's crappiest plastic and suffer from endless rattles.
Sorry, but while the C4 interior doesn't look that bad, it's a nightmare of shoddy engineering -

The design of the interior was good but the execution was a mess because the cheap materials. That pretty much sums up most of what was coming out of Detroit at the time and in later years put them in the deep hole that almost put them out of business. To bad that they had to be on the brink of bankruptcy to turn out quality cars.

The C4 is better, faster, and a better car all around.

The wifey prefers our 86 interior because the later C4 gives all to the driver.
Almost partitions the passenger from ALL the controls.
While the C7 does exactly that. I wonder if this will be the response for most passengers?

While I really do like the layout, I'm growing sick of the carbon fiber look. It's just too rice boy for me. I wish they would cover it up with some non reflective color. I think carbon fiber is becoming as over done as the simulated "plastic wood" got a few years back when it was stuck on everything as an "option". I know it's the latest and greatest strong, light weight high zoot yadda, yadda, yadda. I don't need to see it bare to know it's great. The only thing I like to see bare is a tit, but that's a bit of a distraction in a car too.
