I am looking at buying another C4. My first on was an 84 and I have missed it ever since we parted ways. The one I have found is a 92 with the LT1 and just about to turn 100,000 miles. Is there anything with this year or motor I should look for before making an offer.
Ask if the Optispark distributor has ever been replaced. If it hasn't, then it's likely on the short list for replacement with that mileage. Oh, and never get the Opti wet. It sits under the water pump.
Other than the obvious stuff... Check the suspension (bushings bearings ujoints etc) and if it has the FX3, check it good. Pull all the ALDL codes to make sure the DIC bulbs weren't pulled to hide FX3, ABS, or ASR problems.
I didn't see any fx3 controls and all the lights look like they came on at start up and off right. ASR light came on when I lost traction. All seams good to me at a great price ($7k) I think anyway. Needs a little cosmetic tlc but hopefully in my driveway next week.
The ASR turning on, is normal. One thing to know, is that the car's fans(by factory standards), turn on at high temps. You'll love the LT1. That your C3?
What I was meaning by the Light came on was that the system seams to be working without problems. Good info about the fans!! That is my 78C3. It is for sale and I have a buyer if the check from his USAA loan gets here. If I could put the body of my 78 onto a C4 I would be a happy man but I am not made of money
Yeah, the ASR is fine. The primary fan(driver side) turns on at 226 farenhiet, the other at 236. But when you turn the a/c on, both fans should turn on. Nice C3, hpe the check arrives to you.

Check the condition of the weather stripping around the doors, windshield, rear halo, and back hatch. Also check the tread on the tires and look for cracks, these items can be a little pricey to replace.
Good luck and have fun with it, sounds like a nice vette.
