Default Backup Light Question

I have a side backup lamp out on the passenger side, I look up under the rear fender and there is a plastic guard/cover that blocks access to the side marker area, does that just pop out? will it screw up the little black things holding it in place? Mine is also sorta loose, is it supposed to be loose?

Thanks in advance!

IIRC, I just reached up from underneath and was able to twist the holder a 1/4 turn and remove it. It sounds as if you have something covering access to the socket ... sorry I'm not much help

Looking at the FSM, it shows one lamp comes in to the housing from the top and the one closest to the rear comes in from the side. The cornering lamp is #1156 and the side marker lamps are #24.

Here are the instructions from the owner’s manual:

Reach the rear side marker lamp from under the vehicle.
1. Turn the socket counter clock wise one-quarter of a turn and pull it out.
2. Pull the bulb straight out.
3. Reverse the steps with a new bulb.

Reach the rear cornering lamp from under the vehicle.
1. Press the tab on the socket, turn it counter clock wise one-quarter of a turn and pull it out.
2. Push the bulb in, turn it counter clock wise, then pull it out of the socket.
3. Reverse the steps with a new bulb.

Hope this helps.

I do, it's a black plastic piece that's held in with black plastic push in type fasteners, you can't stick your hand up any further than the bottom of the fender.

thanks! that's my Grand Daughter

Just pull it down, the fasteners pop out easily. There's only this cover on the passenger side, drivers side doesn't have one. Changed mine out about a week ago
