The B&M shifter I bought needed to be machined for it to fit/screw on the B&M shifter. The carbon fiber I'm currently using was screwed with a rubber tape.

Hurst used to make a beautiful, oversized, old-skool type shift **** for the 6-speed C4/C5. It was available in white and in black.
I'd send you a pix of one, but photobucket isn't working for me at present.
They look very cool in the C4 and fit the hand much better than the stock piece. Highly recommend.
I have the "old school" Hurst type 4 speed shifter **** in black on my 85 4+3. They can be purchased on that auction site we use. Vendor goes by the name "Johnnymustache". It's two inches in diameter. The thread size on C4 Vettes is 9/16X18. There is a picture of it somewhere on this forum.

Awesome, Steve!
But, as a metal worker and woodworker, I have to ask how you broached the square key hole in the ****?? That's the part I wanted to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The HURST "style" round **** for the ZF is still available but doesn't have the "HURST" logo displayed any longer. I thought mine was maybe 2 1/4" or so but the newer are advertised I think at 2 1/8". I believe you would feel that if you were accustomed to the larger ****.
