Default 96 hood alignment ??

The hood on my 96 is out of alignment as you can see in the picture,, the opposite side is perfect. It seems like if one side is mis aligned the other side would be too.. Anyone have any ideas Thanks

Well, you say the other side is perfect, but I'd like to see "perfection".

That asside, perhaps the best way to regulate a C4 hood is to remove the headlight assemblies, lower the hood, loosen the bolts between the hinges and the hood, latch the hood, position the hood properly, then re-tighten the hood/hinge bolts. Voila!

See what you think of that!

Will that not cause the other side to be mis aligned ?? It really is like it should be

Try this articlehttp://https://www.corvetteforum.com...ndow-glass.php

It may be that your hood is fine and your front end is out of whack. That could explain your one side looking ok.

You need to give pics of both sides of the hood and front bumper edges. There are "several" adjustments to be made when aligning the bumper and hood. The hood must be level and centered THEN you can align the bumper assembly.

The bumper assembly has several adjustments that can be made to fit flush with the hood.

From what I can see in your pic, the bumper cover appears to be pushed towards the driver side BUT without seeing all angles first, a determination cannot be made.

The front bumper needs pushed towards the passenger side. It's not out of spec very much. Just loosen the nuts on the front bumper mounts and bump it over. Put a floor jack underneath the front bumper with a towel on the jack surface. This will help it to not drop down. Just un-snug the nuts a little and then bump it until it moves into place and is even with the drivers side. Then tighten it back up. It doesn't need much.

Looks very similar to alignment I have with the front bumper on my 88 Vette.
I agree the LHS side looks perfect, if you move it over to try and compensate for the RHS (i.e. center the bumper to the hood) then you'll have a gap on both sides....?
Its almost like the bumper has shrunk in comparison to the hood.
I'm not happy with the alignment of my bumper either, just not sure how to fix it when the bumper looks too narrow to begin with.
I've seen plenty of other C4's where the bumper/hood alignment is much better.

Mine's similar, just not as pronounced. I don't worry too much about it.

If someone bends over far enough to comment on it, just give 'em a swift boot on the rear... lol

I don't think anyone has noticed it, it doesn't really look that bad. I haven't taken it to a body shop to be looked at, but I really think it might be the hood,, every thing else matches up like it should..
