when i opened my garage door the snow was higher than the rear of my vette. wish I took a pic. Tom, I'll buy that steering rack from you if you invite me out to utah. would love to go snowboarding in some real snow. I spend my weekends in VT but I don't think it's like utah. My dog finally had to go out and all you could see was his tail like a periscope. he is a choc lab. He loved it but I spent all day snowblowing and it sucked. I could have finished my waterpump instead. Hope your power comes back soon in MA. stay safe. waiting for my roof to leak now with all this rain. The cars and the palm trees look nice. Thanks for the pics P.

If you're sane and normal...I'd do that. You're right...it's not the same. I grew up skiing in NE; after school at Mt Wachusetts and on weekends at Sunday River. Also did all the VT/NH areas and of course Sugar Loaf. Tuckerman's was mandatory April ritual. <That was the closest thing to "out west" skiing. It is big, bad terrain out here, with BIG, bad snow. Alta/Snowbird average ~600"/year. The backside (where I live) average ~355". I love it. I LOVE snowblowing (gotta have the right machine -hint; Honda hydrostatic), and I love the winter/mountain life. Make a plan. As Warren Miller always said, "Come on out and join me. If you dont do it this year, you will be one year older when you do."

DOH! And that is the other difference between here and NE. Back there, it seems w/o fail, that good snow is ruined by....RAIN...which is followed by...sub zero temps! Boooo!

Well it's pretty big, rectangularly shaped, with water on three sides, a long border on the south side, a big flat area in the middle, and a big bay toward the north side. Some mountians too.
Here on the west coast, we've had one 2" snowfall this year.

my house is right between stratton and Mt Snow. very bored of both of them. Tucks is cool but over so quick and quite the hike. I hope I am sane and normal as I work at a Psychiatric Hospital. At least I guess I am qualified to know the difference. just kidding about coming out. My wife would never let some internet stranger in the house either but thanks. My Aunt actually lives there and is a ski instructor.

I live in northern Ontario Canada and we got a dusting of snow compared to southern Ontario and the north eastern states.. Our total snowfall here might total about a foot.. That's from the first snowfall to present.. Camera's broken so no pics, but I do sympathize with all those who got dumped on..Been there seen that when I lived in southern Ontario..

My wife told me we should not have retired and moved "south".(we came from north jersey) In the two years since we have moved to Barnegat, NJ, we had a 24" snow fall in Dec 2010, Hurricane Irene in 2011, a mild earthquake, Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and they even found a WW II bomb in our development a couple of months ago. Right now it is beautiful and sunny but only 45 degrees. We were lucky with Nemo. Only had about 6 ". Last night we only had a couple of inches of snow.
