I've just been told that the Bose in my '94 coupe is a DIN and a half? I thought it was double DIN! Im wanting to fit a modern Alpine CDE-W235BT CD Tuner with Parrot Bluetooth unit (double DIN) and matching speakers (with new wiring of course!) does anyone know if it would fit straight in or would it need some "surgery"
It fit perfectly in my 90 with no mods! Don't know how much different your 94 interior is?
Very very similar! mines slightly more "recessed" than yours especially on the lower edge, not flush like yours, but I cant imagine the actual unit apature would be any different, yours does look good though!

All C4s from MY90-MY96 are a Double DIN. Depending how deep your system is you will need to cut the back plastic channel that the center screw from the old BOSE unit rests on but thats no big deal for a dremmel. Go ahead and order the Metra install kit which is pretty cheap. It will show a pocket for a single DIN radio set up however you will throw that away and only need the side mounting brackets. Amazon.com is normally the cheapest.
Heres how my AVIC Pioneer system looks GC

Well, Ive just been out and bought one! I got a speaker system as well and about 10 metre's of speaker cable so now Im ready to go! I'll be hard wiring it in, I always find that it gives less "noise" that way.
just one question for Air Force, did the stock antenna lead fit or did you have to modify in any way.

You will very likely need an adapter.
The factory GM antenna connectors are a different size than any aftermarket radio I've ever seen.
Pretty common adapter though, and can be found anywhere that sells audio stuff. A Google search for "GM Antenna Adapter" will find what your looking for.
Note:
You will also need a much longer antenna cable. Your factory antenna is connected to the actual radio receiver located in the storage bin behind the passenger seat.
Your new aftermarket unit will be one self contained unit going into the dash.
So, you'll need a cable long enough to reach up there.

You will also, have to install two 1k ohm 1/2 watt resistors, (from Radio Shack) in the stock harness or an annoying blinking "SYS" will display in the LCD panel. Just follow the diagram in these instructions. http://www.corvetteforum.net/c4/dave8476/index4.shtml

would this be necessary on my '94, on the link it it only covers up to the '93 model.
I think you should be ok, the stereo guy's that put mine in never put any of the resistors in and I have never had an issue in almost a year! I think they used a GM adaptor plug and it worked fine.
I did show them the service bulletin and they said they have installed hundreds of vettes and never had an issue, but they said if I did they would fix it for free!
I purchased a pioneer unit for $450.00 and had the local stereo shop do the install. They removed all of the Bose equipment, installed new pioneer unit, hooked up the blue tooth and rear camera, new speakers and new wiring for $425.00.
