I will be short and to the point. I ordered a door switch to turn on the interior lights when you open the door for my friends 1994 Corvette. I ordered this in January. Two days later I get a email saying that the switch is back ordered and would be due into Eckler's about February 10th. I sent an email to them on Saturday the 16th asking for an update. Here is their reply...
Dear John,
The next date we have any coming into stock is 12/31/13.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
Thank you,
Savannah
I replied back that they should remove this item from their list of available parts until they actually have product. I don't think we are waiting a year for them to get stock....if they ever do!!!

Eckler's was GREAT when Ralph Eckler was the owner...They did their Annual Corvette Show and their parts were top notch....I dealt with them from the late 80's through the 90's and all was good....Now, from what I understand it's a whole 'nother ball game.....
I have used Eckler's in the past for other parts without a problem. I do try other sources before them because of the problems that others here have had with them. In this case, no one else had the part...most don't show it at all or indicate that it has been discontinued. I ordered from them because there was no one else and all indications were that it was in stock. A two or three week back order situation I can live with but not ten months plus.
I have another possible source that I have come up with. If this works out, I will post the source and the results.
Taking a order for a part that they know is on backorder and not showing that status or notifying me is why I stopped using them.
I recently dropped one of largest supplier of Corvette parts and gave 100% of my business to Keen Parts. Their service is next to none.
I had used the major supplier for over twenty years, giving them $15k-$20k per year. Lack of customer service lost my business. I even spoke face to face with the owner at Kissimmee last month. Still have not heard a word from them. This was NOT Mid America or Corvette America.
Keen Parts is #1 in my book.

I told you that I was looking at another source for the Door Adjar Switch for a 94. I found a business that I had done business with in the past, TABER CORVETTE that has this part. I spoke with Kevin who was very helpful and thought he could ship the part today.
I used them in the past to rebuild my dash cluster for the 85. Good people to do business with, add them to your list of suppliers. There phone number is 877-349-2838.
Just a side note on this part. It is adjustable....well actually self adjusting. According to Kevin, the center plunger can be pried outward with a small screwdriver. When you close the door it will adjust itself. So if your switch is not working correctly or at all, you might try this first.
My 70 y.o. mother ordered a nice jacket for me from Eckler's for Christmas last year. Her husband (body shop owner) had used Eckler's in the past and directed her there for this purpose. My lovely wool/lambskin $200+ jacket got back ordered and finally arrived in late March, early April...just about too warm to wear it by then. Mom wasn't happy at all.
Funny related story...my jacket is a C5 logo design. See, Mom doesn't know the difference between Corvette generations. I wear it occasionally just beacuse it's so nice but I rarely drive the Corvette when it's that cold and the Corvette jacket looks a tad silly when I climb out of my Suzuki work car. The other day I wore it to the grocery store and the store manager chased me down to tell me about his 2001 and wanted to know what year my C5 was. I explained it to him and he understood. Perhaps I should just go buy a C5 and call it good?
Had the same problem with them a few years ago. They advertised having the part in stock, well a couple weeks later and it didn't arrive, so called them and was told it was on b/o and it would take a few months for it to come in if at all.
