This is the car I lusted for s a dirt poor dad 20 years ago.
Dog in his run was going nuts, so I went outside to see what the deal was. Barking at shadows, lol.
On the way back in, I stopped to admire my baby.
My co-worker has a beautiful C6 and , he thinks it is all that. And he's the typical C4 hater...
I stood there and admired the oh so subtle lines of my beautiful Arctic White 96 coupe and realized that this is the epitome of styling. No mistaking this is a Vette, but the totally subtle cues just screamed to me, this just ain't your extruded Barbie car.
To all of us that are C4 owners, thanks for the best automotive experience I have had the pleasure to call mine.
Yeah. I wanted one in 1983...the first time I saw a C4 sitting on the showroom floor. I was a broke college kid. The saleshole wouldn't even let me sit in it. I said "someday".....
A true enthusiast admires all generations of the Corvette, yes if we had the cash we may drive a more modern vette and have several different years in a private collection. However what is the point in driving the banks car ?!? Nothing like owning your own vette
Tell your C6 friend that your C4 is all yours, can he say the same about his C6? Live within your means i say
What really makes the C4 stand out, is when going down the road with all the other cookie cutter cars that are on the market today.. The C4 has those amazing curves and lines and the others all look like a Ford Focus..No cars made today have the styling of the C4.......WW
I'm a C6 owner as well as a C4 owner and admire both. I like the lines of the C4, but as a vert it has no real luggage space so the C6 coupe works much better for touring.
We'll forgive the OP, as this is the first post, but
Not to mention all the work, maintenace and upgrades we made to these 20 year old vehicles (+/-). When I look at my C4 I not only see a beautifully designed sports car, but a car that is original with all my additions. It is unique to me and I take a great deal of pride in it. And, the bank does not own it.

Of all the generations, C4 was my least favorite until I started looking at them closer. Test driving a C-3 (my at the time favorite) rattle trap with a speedometer that topped out at a whopping 80 mph helped me like the C4 even more. Now, especially after a fresh wash and wax, I think my '95 6-spd is just full of !!!WOW!!!
I used to think that the C4 was just the Corvette for someone who couldn't afford any other generation (i.e. me) but once I've gotten in and driven C3's, C4's, and C5's, I wouldn't have anything else than a C4. I realized how stupid I was for thinking that. My foot went in my mouth so fast once I test drove the first C4... When I was looking at buying a Corvette I was seriously considering a C3, 2 C4's, and 3 C5's, and look which one I ended up with?
Thanks for all the great comments. To the guys that though I'm bashing the 6's, I'm not. It's the attitude that the dude has that rankles me, lol. Heck, I wanna put a 3,5 & 6 in my driveway someday
As for pics, I'll get on that this weekend and update the thread.
Again, thanks to all in the community for the wealth of knowledge. It's nice to know if I encounter an issue a search will find a "been there" from someone. I have so much fun driving and tinkering with this cr, that I really haven't driven my Jeep in almost a year, lol.
