Default Had my '96 weighed

At a dyno day (posted in Tech), they also weighed it for me. I took any crap out of the car I had. It had about 3/4 tank of gas. The only thing non-stock is a 800 watt amp in the passenger side rear and sound/ heat shielding material throughout. And no mufflers. Also just put euro spec headlamps in which are quite a bit heavier than the plastic sealed units that I believe were stock (mine had one plastic sealed beam on the front right and one glass sealed beam on the front left).
Very interesting!

Pretty crazy differences in RF and RR! I did not realise the rear was so light, especially on that side. I am going to change my plans for ditching the spare And what is making the right front so heavy? Coolant tanks? But overall less heavy than expected, I understood 3300 to be stock for the '96

Strange, I wonder if they are all that way. Anybody else weigh theirs and find this difference?

Were you sitting in it?

I'm honestly surprised the front is that way. The battery+heavy steering column+accessories are all on the left front area.

I cannot see how the rear is that much off side to side. The rear of these cars is very symmetric.

Total weight is about right. My 93 with full tank of fuel, stock wheels=3300lbs on the money. With the non-stock wheels and some crap in the car. IT was pushing close to 3400 with full tank of fuel.

I have a lot of heavy weight options like dual power seats, Bose Gold, Auto A/C, etc...

Did it get put on the scales with a lift?

If the suspension wasn't completely settled and the ride heights were off it could skew the numbers all over the place. Looking at the numbers, it looks like either the left rear or right front wasn't all the way down where it should be.

They just lifted it up as you see in the pic and dropped it down on the pads. And no I wasn't sat in it ffs. The numbers look weird to me too. So now I doubt both their dyno and their scales.. great.
Don't have anything to compare it to anyway, unless one of you lot go get this done. How about it, racers?

.......... C4 engines are offset to the passenger ( right ) side by approx 1 1/2" to give the drivers feet some working room .............

Did they check the car's level?
F to R & L to R?

When I jack my C4 the rear stands up until the suspension normalizes

That scale setup might work well on rustangs but not full independent suspension.
So if your looking to keep the spare for what?
Going road racing in the near future?

If that's the case, everything other than the total weight is going to be off.

Yep, car needs to be rolled on to the scales.

If the #'s were good the rear would stick better on
left hand corners, not so good on right handers

BTW: It all changes when a driver is added.

Ok good to know. I will let them know if I'm ever up there again. I didn't pay much attention to the process, my attention was mostly on the various noises coming from the dyno
At least we know the total weight of a '96
