I thought I'd just lost the little setscrew in my reverse lockout when I went to tighten it (again!). But upon closer inspection, the receiving piece is cracked and the screw must've popped out and fallen into the shifter boot. I'm tired of parking on hills and pull-thrus and need to fix this quickly while I get a replacement. My question is whether any of these ideas are good ones:
1. JB or epoxy the little cover strip back together and try to put a 6/32" screw in place of the allen screw.
2. Drill the spot where the screw used to go and tap in a roll pin or something of the right size and just let the lower half of the trimmie-thingie bear on it when I pull up to get into reverse.
1990 manual, 6-spd. I just looked at the inner rod and it's too small to actually drill...I epoxied the outer (trim?) strip that holds the little allen screw and am waiting to see if it'll hold...my guess is, "no" but it's worth a try early on...
As I thought, didn't hold...only thing now I think is to buy a new assembly. Any good spots to shop?
You only broke the plastic lift ring? If yes post a wanted to buy on the parts for sale/wanted to buy and you shouldn't have a problem. Anyone who has added a Hurst or B&M shifter would have that piece and the set screw as a spare part.
Here's an image for you. If I understand you correctly you need #3 and #4. If I've misunderstood post back. Use that image in your post wanted and just add the description of the parts.
Yes, I believe you are right on the parts that I need...to be sure though, the broken part is the black (plastic?) strip that rides in the groove on the shifter and has the small hole that receives the set screw. If this is all included in numbers 3 and 4 then I'm good to go with that. If you can confirm my suspicions I'll put the plea out on the forum for the parts, and thanks for the help!

That's all that you need! Use "reverse lift-ring" and "set-screw" for a ZF shifter as a description of what's needed.
I'm just amazed some enterprising machinist hasn't made some of these out of some scrap aluminum and anodized them black...
Could sell them all day long...probably 20 minutes of work tops (plus anodizing).
I don't know that I recall more than maybe one other request in the past. It actually is still available from GM. Has a retail of $27 - seems high but it is new! Part # 10079757 Corvette Central wants $28.

I picked one up from my local Chevy dealer for about $20 IIRC
There was a member who was going to make these out of aluminum some time ago. I "signed up," but as far as I know, they were never produced. If they were available, I'd buy one
