I think I am finally comprehending all of this now, but I am sure there are some forum members that can give me a quick answer to this question.
If I wanted to run the ZR-1 sawblades pictured below, would they fit on all four corners of my 84 with no spacers? It seems to me I would need spacers on the front, since these wheels in 17 x 8.5 have 56mm offset, and in 9.5 width have 54mm offset. The staggered rears at 17x11 should have a 36mm offset, meaning they will work fine on my 84 with no spacers. Right?? If so, is rubbing an issue when running the wider rubber on these wheels on an 84?
Same question would apply to A-molds...if I were to go with GS repros, I assume I need the 36/38mm offset on all four to make it work without spacers?

Theoretically the 11" @ 36mm will fit the '84 front and rear but will the front tolerate the actual tire width is an unknown until you actually mount and check. All 315 tires aren't created equal. A 315 Sumitomo would stand the better chance of no issues. The premium G'year etc the least likely chance of a fit. That's also true for the rear, the tire will be right on the wheelhouse edge as it will be right on the hood edge on the front. On the front would there be interference with suspension/steering? It would take a mount to confirm. Theoretically no issues except on very tight locked turns.
Since the offset remained the same the wheel width difference is split inboard/outboard equally 3/4" and this is when compared to 9.5 @ 36mm Z51 wheel.
Is that what you were looking for? I was a little confused when you started to mix 8.5 @ 56 etc.

OK - To use the 9.5 @ 56mm fronts you need a spacer/adapter 3/4" will do and a 1" will put the wheel 1/4" outboard of the original position of a 9.5 @ 36mm and fill the wheel-house nicely. You need hub-centric (not all are). Don't "cheap-out" on the adapter/spacer.
Generally speaking the rears are considered a fit but it's a car to car thing that needs confirmed. I seem to recall reading about maybe a parking brake cable repositioning required or something of the sorts, maybe brake hose bracket. Like I mentioned not all 315's seem to be the same. The lesser dimensioned product would create less of an issue.
