I can't read most of the sign, but is that the car that used to be the CART pace car?
I remember 1 from the days when they had a fleet of them that traveled with the series and I can't think of any other reason for the light bar. If I remember correctly there was also an NSX, a Ferrari 355, and a Nissan 300ZX, and a Lotus Esprit (and probably some others).
