I'm ready to buy an enclosed car trailer. What ones do you guys own and what are your pros and cons of it? So far the biggest problem I've seen was not enough fender height to open the door once it is inside. Does everyone winch their car in?
I pull a 28 ft Haulmark elite II series trailer w/ sway control and torsion bars. I Drive it in (w/ help ;) ) and use the factory tie down points for holding it to the floor (4 D rings) My biggest thing is, I have to crank the tounge up to gain more clearance w/ my nose however, you will probably not encounter that issue w/ a stock nose. As far as fender height, a trailer company that makes them for Vipers has the low fenders you are talking about however, I throw down a body pillow , open the door slighly and step on the carpet sill on the way out. It pays to be nimble here :D
Good luck w/ your decision I think w/ your convertible, life will be easier for yours

Re: Enclosed Car Trailer (Crusher137)
I have a Haulmark 24 foot. I like it a lot. I have not had any problems with it. The prices on Haulmarks are cheaper then most other enclosed trailers. I use my enclosed trailer for a Mustang. I have to park the Mustang to the right in the trailer so I can get out. The Mustang has a 8 point cage which makes it tough to get out. I also have a winch in the trailer to pull the car in. If the Vette is to wide to drive into the trailer I would invest in the winch to pull it in the trailer.
Kevin, if you can, take a ride out to the track Saturday. Bob should be there with his enclosed trailer. He has a door on the left side of the trailer which allows him to open the drivers door and get out without too much trouble.
i have a black pace daytona 20' to match the avalanche. i drive the car in and climb out the window with the door cracked. i can step on the side by the seat. i had an opened trailer before but when it rains on the way to a far away show you pretty much waysted your detail job. its harder to pull an enclosed trailer because of wind resistance. my 2002 z71 avalanche pulls it great but i get 7 mpg pulling the trailer at 80 mph. i have a weight distribution hitch and an anti sway bar. i recommend this. here is some more advice. put the trailer and truck on levil ground with a levil on the trailer tonge. pull the car in and move it back and forth until the trailer is levil with the car inside. mark the tire spots there. adjust the rear tie down straps to stop in that spot and in the future you just pull the car up until the straps are tight. tie the front and your done. with the car and trailer balanced it will tow better. if i could post pictures i would. good luck.
