radio issue
When i bought my 88 it already had a aftermarket radio in it. Sound quality was terrible. Antenna didnt work. I replaced powered antenna removed bose speakers and amps and installed new speakers. Still sounds like crap... radio stations going in and out. Thought maybe the aftermarket radio was crap (very old pioneer) so i replaced it today and still crap pretty sure i need to run new wires to speakers seeing how they dont fade/balance they way they should. Assuming part of the bose crap. Was wondering if the bose crap is somehow affecting the antenna also or if i have a wire problem for the antenna. I know it is connected in the rear drivers compartment from when i replaced the antenna is there another connection somewhere besides the radio that could be bad or any other kniwn issues im overlooking?

Sounds like an antenna problem. I think 88, 89, 90 & 91 had radio reception issues. There was/is an antenna ground plain kit that helps somewhat. I had a 1990 and accomplished this mod with limited results, got considerably better but still wasn't right. I traded the 90 on a 95, couldn't believe the difference in radio quality.
