Does anyone know the part # for an Optima battery for 95 Vette ? The local NAPA store shows sizes but they appear to be too big for the tray.
thanks RB
I just checked Optima's website site & they do not have one listed for a 95 or 96 Vette. I think the big issue is not the size, but finding one with side post only. When I replaced my battery for my 95 I went with a different brand because of that problem. I didn't feel like modifying the car or battery to make it fit.
Roger that...the side mount. I bought Everlast (Autozone) use a battery tender in the long cold winters. The battery is five yrs old and I'm looking forward to this season with it.

I would avoid the Optima for a couple reasons 1. The top positive post for the one that fits is in very close proximity of the chassis brace. The brace requires modification to work. 2. The performance of the more recent Optimas seems to be a matter of great conversation. Some have had terrible service from them (many here on the forum) BUT there are others that seem to do well with them. I don't want to be a "tester" for anyone.
If I needed a battery I'd buy a group 75 battery form a reliable local source that sells batteries regularly and that I could rely on for service.
Most resellers rotate there stock BUT I'd be sure I got a very recent build. The build dates are on most batteries. Ask! Some only display a stamped in case manufacture date and then they're "stickered" when added to someones inventory. Check the case date, it's impossible for it to be older than the case date. Keep your invoice "it IS your warranty!
