Default Paint idea(s)

I've got the car pretty well disassembled and prepped for paint. The car is (originally) white and I plan to keep the same general plan for color. I did have an idea in the night (watching too many car shows on Velocity) to paint the targa and halo bar matte black. All the glass is tinted so it would have a very black on white feel.

I want to keep the car relatively normal, but I do want to make some subtle changes to keep it personalized with some class.

Whatcha think?

I'm not a big fan of matte black but it would look good since you're keeping that white on black contrast. I have a white on black with a black targa top and halo bar and it really pops.....more so than i think matte black would.

when I get around to painting my white 91 vert, I'm thinking there are some neat pearl paints out there now. Would look similar but better IMHO

Satin or gloss, don't do a flat black.

I think the people who have done this had the GLASS targa top on thier cars, so they painted the other part to give it a "seamless" kind of look. I have a white 84 and would not pain my targa black, even though i have dark tinted glass. My targa is NOT glass, so I wouldnt paint it. But the only one who has to love it is YOU ! ! Good luck ! !

The white and black is a nice contrast and looks very nice. I have seen a few guys that did a mate finish and said it was more work on upkeep than a gloss finish.

What about a carbon fiber wrap for the black and a pearl white for the rest? You would not have to mess with the door jambs and the under hood painted parts as no one would notice that they were not pearl.
Black rims with chrome outer portions would make it look great too.
