Default 85 Instrument Pod

Just got an '85 that needs the cluster reworked. Whiule waiting for a manual to arrive, I started removing the cover plate. can anyone tell me what holds this thing in place and where they are located? Found some hole on the front but it doesnt take a screw driver. Was wondering weather it might be an allen screw or a torx head. maybe I am not even looking in the right area.

Are you talking about the dash pad?

If so, there are two philips screws on either side of the defroster vent. Two 7mm screws above the center cluster. 3 or 4 7mm screws above the instrument panel. You must remove the instrument panel bezel to get to these. That's held on by a bunch of philips screws. Watch our for the one forward of the side window defroster duct. You must remove the headlight switch **** or shaft to get the instrument panel bezel off. After all the screws are out, the dash pad slides back. There are metal clips that fit into holes in the base of the windshield.

Some dash pads have a screw on the extreme right end at the windshield pillar (mine didn't have one there).
