Just above your right knee, where the carpeting from the dash and instrument area meet there is an ALDL connector. Yours may still have the covering piece on it.
Anyway, youll want to bend a paper clip open and stick the ends of it into the two farthest holes on the right. One on top of the other

The Service engine soon light. It will blink once and then twice (code 12) for 3 times to start. Then the codes, if any, will flash. For example 3 flashes, pause, 2 flashes is code 32.

The bottom one is empty, a dummie slot. I just pulled codes today with my trusty clip, if you're doing it right the fans will come on and it will take a few seconds before the first code flashes, BLINK (pause) BLINK BLINK "12" is always going to blink at the beginning AND end, it's your baseline code. All errors fall in between in numeric order.
