Default Polishing Instructions / Compounds

I would like to polish my plenum and runners. The following link has the instructions on how to do it.
http://www.gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox...m/pol-plen.htm

I'm trying to find a local store that has the compounds I need (Tripoli & White Rouge). Does anyone know a place in Atlanta that has that stuff. I tried Wal-Mart, Pep Boys, and Lowes (Tripoli out of stock).

Thanks in advance!

Check your local Sears - they stock a 3 compound kit. Just what you're looking for.

O.K., I'll admit that a polished plenum looks really great. Now, here are my concerns, since I've never taken one apart. I'm sure there are gaskets between the assemblies. Do you need to replace the gaskets or just use the original ones if they are in good shape? Is there any chance of messing up any settings or adjustments, or are there any settings within the plenum assembly in the first place. Is the plenum just a big hollow "air induction system"? I've never taken one apart, so I don't know what to expect to find under it. Mine is an '85 350 with tuned port injection. How long will the shine last? Is it something that can just be "wiped off" or do you have to continue to polish it to keep the "chrome" look.

BTW, I've got the Dremel tool, the grinder/polisher, and all of the other tools required from previous hobbies/building projects.

I have taken the runners and plenum off before and didn't need to replace the gasekets. The polish last for a long time if a light coat of wax is on them. Let me know when you start and finish the project!
