Hello fellow vette owners, I need some valued opinions. I currently own a 95 torch red coupe with the lt1 , auto trans, 106.000 miles in average to good shape with 2.59 gears. Am looking at a 96 polo green coupe with the lt4, auto trans, 69.000 miles, don't know what gear ratio, in better shape as far as paint and interior. I have done a little bit of research as far as the engine differences ie; heads, higher winding rpms, overall sounds like a stronger set up with the lt4. Here are my questions. (1) I can quick sell my 95 for 5300 tomorrow if I want to, asking price on the 96 is 10,000 but I believe I could get them down to 8500 to 9000. Is the difference ( 3500 ) worth it in your folks opinion? I like the polo green over the torch red and I know I would appreciate the power increase. ( 2) I want the 3.07 gears one way or the other. How do I determine what gear ratio the 96 has. Lots of great opinions on this forum, let me know what you think. Thanks
96 auto = LT1, 6speed = LT4, no exceptions. No, it's not worth it...as far as resale, red = (+), green = (-) big time, and I REALLY like polo green. Except for the OBD2, they are basically the same car.

okay, this is why I ask the experts. After calling back the owner I asked him to read off the vin number to me and it was the p code lt1 engine. Thanks a bunch guys you saved me 50 miles of travel time although hitting the interstate in my vette is always fun. Long live the wave
Not that it matters now that we all know this 96 was an automatic but based on the original premise of "would a 69k mile LT4 car be worth 3500 over a 106k LT1/automatic/highway geared car...color preference aside, assuming the 96 was in good or better condition than the 95 (based on the milage alone which I know is subjective) IMO the answer is a resounding YES.
Of course there are more Buyers for a red car----but there are a lot fewer Polo Green cars---bottom line---it's a wash. Def go with a LT-4 if you're OK with shifting--Good Luck!!
