I have opportunity knocking on my door.
A couple of fellow CF members know of it.
Simply put would 20 people spend $ 35,000.00 to $ 55,000 for a 196 to 202 MPH C4 Corvette that is documented and badged?
The reason for the 20K range is because of the possible shape the potential Corvette for make over is in (e.g. just needs the appearance and performance upgrades to full restoration)
Next year, the first C4s turn 30 years old.
Thanks for your input.
There is a couple of Corvettes I am in the process of purchasing, but it is delayed 2 to 4 weeks.
i would not. i would spend $20k-$25k and buy a C4 ZR1. performance should come somewhat close and you know the car was built right and will be dependable throughout the years.
It depends on the marketing. Marketing sells. My question would be why buy a base C4 converted, when as pointed out above the ZR-1 exists not to mention the early production C6 ZO6's can be had cheaper.

I agree with mazda...a nice ZR-1, especially one that'd been tuned or worked on by a reputable company like Doug Rippie Motorsports would be more car than 99% of the "average" C4 owners would be able to handle. Personally speaking, unless I had access to a nascar track or the bonneville flats I'd have no reason to own a car capable of going near 200 mph. I know for sure there isn't a road anywhere in nw iowa that I'd even attempt such a run. If I had $55K to spend on a C4, I'd look to get a GS AND a ZR-1
worked on by a reputable company like Doug Rippie Motorsports
astepup said that
There is 2 reputable companies involved.
Due to Forum rules and until legal agreements have been signed I can not publicly can not say much more.
What I can say is I found the last 25 of something very special. This is why I mentioned "ONLY 20".
I appreciate the comments. It is very useful.
The price is an issue we have had a problem with, but to do it right, and correctly, it is where we are at.
I am open to more comments. Be it good, bad, or ugly, respectfully.

Totally agree--just a a Quasar Blue ZR-1 on eBay for I think $25k---less than 20,000 miles
