Default She Won't Turn Over?

Hi guy,

I tried to start my 94 today after she'd been sitting for many months....the battery was obviously dead so I hooked up the jumper cables to my truck and she cranked but wouldn't start?

I'm just wondering if you guys had any ideas as to why she isn't? any help would be appreciated.

You should get a battery tender when you don't drive it for long periods of time! How old is your battery? My bet is the battery is bad!

Modern computer controlled cars do all sorts of weird things when the battery is low/bad.
Even if you have jumper cables going to a good battery, it is not the same as having a "good" battery in your car.

I actually have a battery tender somewhere but I can't find it

I think the battery is about 3 years old or so? I guess I'll go and buy a new one and give it a shot

The first thought that comes to my mind is this: ethanol-added gas. Did you store the car with a full tank of gas? Did you happen to put fuel stabilizer in it? If not, your gas has probably gone bad due to the horrible shelf life of ethanol-added gasoline. You can try siphoning as much out as possible and giving her a fresh tank. Or, you could try adding a stabilizer and seeing if that gets you cranked. The gas at the pumps these days is closer to 15% ethanol than the posted 10%. The phase separation causes water to get in the line and renders the gas useless. Plus, it can cause a fairly nasty amount of damage to the fuel pump. I use this: Sta-bil Fuel Stabilizer in my 1994 Corvette, which I drive 3-4 times a week at the most. I usually run through a tank of gas every 3-4 weeks and this keeps its fresh and running smooth.

*Update*

I bought a new battery last year...she started up, stalled and then would crank but not turnover?

I put her in the garage soon after but I am now wondering if she needs a new set of plugs? when she cranks it seems like she's starved for fuel? I wonder if it could be a fuel pump issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
