Welp i think this is a self induced wound - but here it goes, I installed a nice JVC audio indash unit and everything was fine worked great and sounds awesome. Shortly after install, I decided to rolldown my windows, welp no luck...which is why i'm here now. So the issue is both windows will not go down or up - they dont event make a noise or attempt to move. I've check the fuse and its fine. I checked power to both driver/passenger side toggles and they have power flowing in up/down position. I pulled the door panel off and tested prior and post the connection block and have verified power to the motor. I'm stuck and dont really want to take it to a shop. Not sure what else to try or check - any help greatly appreciated - Thanks Kevin
hmm - well any ideas on where these toggle switches ground to? Does the window power get ground from a common area. I see two wires going into the passenger side motor blue/white and tan - both when tested with meter show good power up/down..but still scratching my head on how the motor itself is grounded... thanks all for any help - Kevin
I'm with ejscarfo... I'd have a hard time believing both your motors went at the same time. When you say you have power at the motors, do you mean you have 12V at the motor when pushing the toggle switch in either direction?
This is the schematic for the 84, s/b similar.. If you open up the center console to the switches you can check for both power and ground at the switches..
hmm this seems good - I will check this evening on his, any ideas on where 'Instrument Panel Ground' is located? suspect this is the common place hmmmm ty for sharing!
