I posted a few weeks ago about looking at one of my bosses vetts. I looked at it today and will be driving it shortly. The good , fired rite up and its cold out (about 55) everything works. He is the 2nd owner and has all service records performed at a local motorcity chevy dealer specializing in older vets. New top and stereo. Still has original. 61 k miles, very nice interior. No rips of bad ware on bolster. The possible issues front tires are about 1/2 worn with some slight cupping on the outside edge of tires(both) he said the car was hit in a parking lot passenger rear quarter and was fixed by dealer 15 years ago. You can see how the paint doesn't quite match with the door (red) fade over the years? He say when the repair was new it matched perfectly. Asking 10 k. Also all four tires are the same size, is this correct? The other car has interior issues, doesn't run *** well bit the paint is perfect..
As I recall, the tires were the all the same. 86 had a mid-year production change. You can spot it from the moved valve cover mounting points and the roof mounting points on the removable hard top. Look for a later one if you can. That was the first year of the anti-lock brakes. A lot better than an 85 without, but weak compared to the later systems.
Usually I'd go for the better paint, but the other's interior bits and getting it running right could cost you too.
I don't know where you'll find a "nice LT4" for that, but I did buy a very nice 94 LT1 convertible, six speed, with 49,000 miles, three owner for less than $10K.

You find them out by me, just need to put some time in searching. Hell there's a LT-5 with 36k on it for $15,000. Just found a white on white LT-4 vert for 9400.

1986 verts came with cast Aluminum 16X9.5 wheels all around.
P255/50VR16 steel belted radials were standard.
86 verts were equipped with aluminum heads and are 235hp, an increase of 5hp over the early 86 coupes. The 86 vert was the first Chevrolet built convertible since the 1975 model. The 1986 Corvette convertible was the Indy 500 pace car and all 86 convertibles sold were designated as pace car replicas.
I enjoy my 86 vert very much
