I changed my battery the other week, so naturally, I had to take off the cruise control...controller. I put everything back in, and wouldn't you know it, my cruise control doesn't work. I checked the ground and made sure that was properly attached.
I was thinking a fuse possibly, but I am not sure.
Any suggestions would help...
THANKS!!
Why did you take it off to change the battery? Check your vac lines.
^^^^^ what he said. Those vacuum lines wrap around the battery compartment - subject to acidic vapors from the battery.
Add a little heat and those 20+ year old lines will crumble and lose integrity.
To replace the battery you need to remove the side panel. About 3 screws in the front, at the wheel well, one at the top rear and one at the bottom, near the center between the side panel and the rocker panel has to be loosened.
When you removed the vacuum lines it is very likely one cracked and you have lost the vacuum. Check them very carefully.
Just looked at this thread. I have had a similar problem with 96 C4, where the cruise control works when the weather is cool, but after about 25 minutes when things get hot, especially in summer time, the cruise just turns off on its own. Any suggestions. Not sure if I should add this in here or start another thread. Let me know on that too. Thanks M

you draw attention away from the the OP, you should start your own thread.. . but as previously mentioned check your vacuum lines, particularly the three way vacuum connection under the right injector cover,,,
