Check engine light and bad ground!
Figured I'd at least let you know what I found.
'87 was always giving me fits on the MAF sensor code. Started checking continuity of ground, All was good to the ground junction above the oil filter at rear of engine(left side) but ended there. I pulled the battery to better access the ground strap from engine to frame(3 inches to the right of the battery tray) and presto! NO MORE CODES. Battery acid must have corroded the connection. Maybe not the best location for a ground. Hope it helps others.
