Do all 1994 coupes have the PKE module installed. I just bought a nice one and it did not come with key FOB's. I would like keyless entry and would prefer just to get key FOB and program.
Thanks for your help
Yes, all 94s came with the system installed. If yours is still working you can buy a new fob and program it yourself. Instructions are in your owners manual. However, before you buy I suggest you check to see if your onboard equipment is still working. Easiest way to do that is to go ahead and do the programming procedure to link up a new fob. Walk through the procedure right up until you need the new fob to proceed and make sure everything happens (lights come on, blink etc.) when the book says it should. If everything looks right you can be fairly confidant that everything is OK.

I will add that you should read up on exactly how the PKE system works.
It is unlike any other system out there, and some people just don't like the way it operates. Possibly because they don't understand it.
You can be kinda confident that it will work, but there is still a pretty good chance that it won't. That is probably why you don't have a FOB with it.

I disagree. I don't think Iv'e ever heard of a receiver not working if it performed correctly up to the "bring fob in range stage". My feeling is most of the people who lose the fobs do so becasue they don't know/like the way the system works.
I have the PKE on my 94 and frankly don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I really like that it locks and unlocks automatically. What I don't like with mine is that it is constantly communicating with my key fob anytime the remote is near the car. I left the keys in my car last week, sitting in the passenger seat in my garage and awoke to a dead battery. For some reason, the fob keeps communicating with the receiver and it constantly locked, unlocked etc until the battery was dead. I no longer use it now.

All you had to do was turn the system off.
Stand next to drivers door, and hold the "door button" on the FOB down until you hear the locks cycle (about 4-7 seconds).
If the system was on, it will now be off. If it was off, it will now be on.
When off, the PKE system does absolutely nothing in regards to locking/unlocking the doors.
I leave mine turned off all the time, since my car is usually parked in my garage.
The only time I turn it on, is if I am out somewhere and will be parking the car out of site for any length of time.
My door locks cycle thru lock/unlock constantly any time the fob is in range. I read here the most common reason is a faulty door switch. However, my interior lights come on when the door opens, and turn off when closed(after the standard delay) Therefore it seems to me the switch is OK. I can't find the old posts on it, can anyone help either with the solution, or pointing me to the old posts that already cover it.
And BTW, I like the system when it works properly, its a lot easier that using the key to unlock.

I'm surprised you didn't hear the locking/unlocking/honking all night. There is no reason a working fob should transmit if not moving. It has to transmit whenever it is moving in order to work like it does.
