My car was/is soaked to the bone!!! Each side of the floor board had enough water to drench a fullsize towel, and then some! This was with the windows UP. This car has the original rubber from '93. The car couldn't leak half this bad with new weatherstripping, could it?! It's getting a bit ridiculous.. Maybe new rubber and readjusting the windows/doors could make a tighter fit? Any horror/good news stories out there having to do with new weatherstrip?
We have had some pretty good storms over on the east coast of FL too. To my surprise my car fared pretty well. The one side with the worn looking weatherstrip is sealed as could be. The side that looks perfect leakes. Go figure.
How is the wxstripping thats on there now. My 87 was left outside uncovered for 3+ years b4 I bought her. Everything on the car was cracked and weathered. USed a little preservative and conditional to "soften it up" a bit then just tightened everything down.
After leaving the stars & stripes gathering Sunday, we drove up to Siesta Key for dinner. Needless to say, after we left we got caught in one HECK of a storm!
Was ready to get drenched. Surprisingly, only minor leaks (very minor) behind my left ear from top left corner of driver side window and same on psgr side. hardly any H2O :)
One of the guys at the show Sunday said he used an RVT sealer he purchased from Home Depot (?) and his 86-7 (?) no longer leaks. Hope this helps a little.

wasn't sure this posted. If it's a dupe, sorry :(
Isnt it funny, it has rained everyday for the last 2-3 weeks down here. Dosent rain a drop for the get together on Sunday, then just downpours like crazy today. I guess the rain was making up for what it missed yesterday.
My car had never been in the rain before, needless to say, little brother had a graduation party this weekend, in the barn where the car normally sits, during his graduation party a terrible storm came through, I had the same thing....a nice little puddle of water on the passenger side floor...I was not happy, thinking I will also have to replace the weatherstripping. I suppose on a 9 year old car that is stored half the year, what should I expect right?
