My Bose CD player is all jacked up. It only plays CD's when my car is hot inside....like after sitting in the sun. When I jump inside of it in the morning when its all nice and cool in my garage the CD player always throws an ERR and spits out the CD. I've cleaned it numerous times with a cleaning CD, but still does not help.
Has anyone else had this problem? Currently I'm saving for performance mods, not tunes, but I'd still like to remedy the sitation....short of spending $250 on a replacement.
They all do that or something else to ruin your audio enjoyment
There are numerous posts in the Audio area regarding fixes and replacements....try doing a search there.....I would seriously consider trashing the entire system (Including speakers) and putting in a quality aftermarket setup :)
Mine does exactly the same thing1 Works well when hot, zero when cold. I'm sending mine to Dr. Don's. He does great work and will rebuild it completely for $150.00 :D
I'm gonna chunk mine. Dicklo/Blowse is crappy, IMO. The money it'll take to replace all the broken stuff is better spent on a premium head unit and speakers worthy of the car.
I replaced my head unit and kept everything else and the thing rocks. The speakers and amps are awsome if they are fixed properly and the proper decoder is installed with the new head unit. P.S. much cheaper than replacing everything, and I don't feel it is neccesary to do that. Good luck!
I'll probably opt to have my repaired also. I really like the look of the stock unit. Kind of ties the whole dash together. I've found a couple on the net for $200-250 brand new. The new unit in Mid America has the white lettering though, I kind of like the orange lettering.
