Help???
Once the tension is off the bolt you lift the whole lot up to un-latch the carrier assembly so you can lower it
in the pic below you can see the locking bolt behind the tank with the bolt head underneath and the latch at the top behind the tank

Also, the jacking instructions are in the owner's manual and sometimes under one of the rear console lids.
It is a great idea to practice this procedure in the comfort of your driveway rather than on the side of a dark Interstate in East BumHump. Don't ask how I know this.

Lower the spare tire carrier and check that the spare has adequate air, check the jack for proper function and practice removing the spare and setting the spare carrier in the "fat tire mode" as I call it. You will understand when you try this procedure.
Lube up the jack screw and the screw that holds up the spare carrier. Then place a flash light, gloves and shop rags somewhere in the car just in case you need it.
My come to jesus moment happened in the dark. No light, no gloves, no rags, no clue as to how the system worked. I just relied on my experience with my 65 vert back in the 60s. I placed the filthy flat tire in my cloth passenger seat for the ride home. Not a good thing to do.
