I wave at 'em all, Most wave back regardless of Gen. If they don't return the wave there could be many reasons. I don't get bugged.
Along with the wave was the unwritten rule that if you drive a Vette and see another Vette pulled off the hwy/road with possible problems you should if you safely can do so, to stop and offer assistance.
With the advent of smart phones, it is not so frequent as in the past, but I know I have stopped to help 3 fellow Vette owners-
--(1) '88 C4 Coupe: out-of-gas- new owner, unfamiliar with C4 fuel guage accuracy, or lack thereof.
--(1) '98 C5 Coupe: Had rear suspension work done recently at a local shop. They evidently did not torque the fasteners that hold the rear leaf spring to the link on the spindle and it let loose on the freeway.
--(1) '94 C4 Coupe: Husband pressure washed engine earlier that day(...and Opti
) then sent wifey out on errands and for some reason it died on the way home. 
That was an easy diagnosis, I sure she was comforted knowing the reason on the flatbed ride home to her hubby.
