Will the Vats bypass from Mid America motor works that is part number 601-116-12 for 1986-1989 models work on a 1990 Corvette?
The resistance is correct for my car (code 12 6.05k ohm) and I am wondering why it will not work. If anyone has any info on this it would be a great help. My car is stranded and need help thanks. They sell a 59.00 version part number 601-114-12 but I don't need a switch.
If your requirement or thoughts are to only supply the "key resistance" both of the MAD products are overkill. You can accomplish the "key resistance" function a couple ways. If you cut the harness in the car a couple inches up towards the lock cylinder you can solder the appropriate resistor array to it and it becomes the MAD $30 product and you've got less than $3 and some time invested. You can buy the pigtail locally add the resistor array and go to the car with it in hand.
All of the information you need to accomplish it is here in this single post, the first image cut the harness where his fingers are and the pigtail image is displayed also.
Keep in mind this in theory only accomplishes the "key resistance" requirement which is what you're hinting at trying to accomplish.
