Hi everyone, a very close friend of mine just got a C4 and she asked me to join a forum to help with maintaining it and is payment its mine whenever I want
I just thought I would post a few pictures to get started. The two biggest issues that exist are air conditioning and weatherstripping. It looks like I'm going to order from CRC for the stripping but I'm at a loss for the ac. I charged the system but the compressor didn't seem to cycle. There was already a sticker saying the system was converted but I still had to attach the modern fill plugs. The one on the low pressure hose is pushing into the radiator hose it would seem. Any help would be great!
Also can someone explain how to post pictures? Its been a while on here

sounds like a great deal for you. Cant help with the AC, mine is out too and haven't had the time to get into it. There are vids on U tube showing how to install the weather strip. LOOK at them b4 ripping off the old stuff.

That is taking "friends with benefits" to a whole different level. Really nice looking car. On the serious side, I can't say that I've ever seen an a/c LP connection on the accumulator. With it rubbing against the radiator hose, you have a potential big problem. If the hose ruptures, not only will the car overheat, but the Opti distributor might get soaked which will lead to its rapid death.
If the compressor didn't cycle, you probably didn't put in enough freon. Did you check the pressure? You also should be able to jumper across the LP switch and see if the compressor kicks in.
Welcome to the Corvette life, it's great huh! I got my 1994 LT1 2 months ago and "YES" i'm in love with her, I've had many cars but now the dream is real I OWN A VETTE!! Long as I remember least since 9 years old I wanted a Corvette. "Toot my horn you all" Dreams do come true, my 94 has her problems but fixing them makes me feel closer to her. By far this is the best car I ever driven and I've had new cars and this old vette is still better. Enjoy your wonderful car, wax her, polish her, care for her needs and drive her like she needs to be driven, hard and long!
Oh yeah, we polished and waxed the whole thing for a solid 3-4 hours today. And thanks everyone, I'd say it looks great too
a new issue as well, we were driving somewhere tonight and the service engine soon light came on. Now in my '95 wrangler you flip the ignition switch a few times to get the code. How do you do check the codes in this car? It lacked an owners manual (which we will b getting soon) so we're kind of in the dark for now other than the help of everyone here. Is there a better place to have the connection on the accumulator? I should be able to move it I believe. But other than that, the following features Freon filler we used said it had adequate pressure. I used a can with oil in it already. Could this be an issue? Or is there some way to bypass the switches to force the compressor to kick in to make sure it works?
Last thing, she found some good looks c6 rims off an '07. 18" in the front 19" in the back with 95% tread left. Will these fit? She's planning on picking them up tomorrow so a quick response would be much appreciated!
the rims will fit, however, you may need adapters to get the right distance out from the axle. Guys in here know way more than me about this issue, but its a common swap, buy them if priced right.
well now we've run into an issue. the car died about a half mile from my house (how incredibly lucky) I found where to run engine codes and I got 25(low coolant temperature located) and 43(engine knock wiring shorted or open). i'll post this into the technical section as well but any help here is greatly appreciated
